What to do when you are not feeling inspired as an Artist
It's common, don't worry, you're not broken. It's common to feel burnout or uninspired as an artist time to time.
That doesn't mean that you should stop creating.
Here are some tips to help you feel inspired and start creating again!
Get outside. Getting in nature can allow you to feel more grounded and get reconnected to nature and the Earth.
Read The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. While this book isn't for everyone, this book helped me reconnect to my artistry to my core. It even includes 12 weeks of exercises to help live a more artistic lifestyle whether you want to be an artist as your career or lifestyle.
Journal. Journaling allows your discontent feelings to be resurfaced. You may be feeling or processing something that is keeping you from creating. Writing will help you pass it.
Watch or read materials from Artists you admire.
Create an outline of your goals and the steps you need to take to accomplish them. Baby steps are key to show your progress towards your goals.
Take care of your physical instrument: are you sleeping enough or drinking water? Are you around people who build you up or tear you down? Consider how you are impacting your physical body and how others around you impact your internal being.
Take care of yourself, your art is uniquely you, which means it is unreplaceable. So nurture and care for your creativity especially through the hard moments.
